The National Alliance Party president and Namatanai candidate is threatening to sue the East New Britain Provincial Police Commander, Joseph Tabali.
This pertains to the incident involving his security firm staff over the weekend.
Walter Schnaubelt, in a statement, said he is taking legal advice regarding the actions and comments of Tabali and the false media reports that have emanated.
Schnaubelt denies being involved in any kind of illegal activity that had any relation to the coming national elections.
He added that he believed police action in Kokopo in detaining 40 people engaged by his company, SOS Security, was politically motivated as evidenced by their subsequent release without formal charges being laid.
“Why else would they arrest and detain a group of people just because they carried scrutineer forms and election posters? This is what candidates of any political party will be doing.”
Schnaubelt reiterated that PPC Tabali is not being truthful when he says important documents belonging to the Electoral Commission have been found on this group.
He said some of those arrested were engaged as scrutineers for the coming national election and had with them election posters and scrutineers’ forms that had been printed by the National Alliance Party.
“As for the two PNGDF personnel on leave break, I understand they had been hired by SOS Security for specific tasks (a driver and a body guard), which they were entitled to perform at the time they applied for these jobs.”
