Hardware Haus has been taking a new approach aimed at making sure customers get right products at the right price.
So moving away from alternative products, the strategy now is to enter into partnerships with quality brand products; the most recent being OSRAM – the world’s largest leading light manufacturer.
Hardware Haus and OSRAM’s LEDVANCE division launched the new brand at its Port Moresby outlet on Tuesday, July 18, and Lae on Wednesday, July 19.
With its 110 years’ experience, OSRAM brings new trends in LED lighting technologies with focus on quality.
Available now, exclusively in Hardware stores in Port Moresby and Lae, are the OSRAM lamp and LEDVANCE luminaire product range.
Speaking with Loop PNG, Neil Fonseca, Channel Head Trade, LEDVANCE, highlighted the need for quality light products.
He said one issue noted in PNG is that lighting is a science but not many realise it. Hence, customers continue to buy cheap products supplied to the market by traders.
“There is no organised distribution so traders are buying anything and selling in PNG with no focus on quality as long as it’s the cheapest price,” he said.
With this partnership, Fonseca said end customers can now be rest assured that buying these products will be a sound investment.
“We ensure that the brand is very competitive in price and still has the global quality mark sold all around the world,” he said.
The introduction of Osram products also comes with ongoing training. Chamath Adikari of Osram will make sure there are experienced trained staff in lighting to help customers out.
“So basically at the end of the day, they’ll be able to help a customer find out what their usage are, their budget and everything else and the ability to give them their light solution,” Adikari said.
Only a few days into the market, the products have already been on demand, with a lot of customers expressing interest to receive this product.
Marlon Ratnayake, head buyer – Hardware Haus, said these products will also be made available in other Hardware Haus outlets in the country.
There is a total of 11 outlets in 10 provinces.
