Ireland put their World Cup preparations on hold this morning to visit Gerehu Primary school.
Students and teachers along with the Gerehu community swarmed in at the opportunity to meet the players, take photos and get autographs.
The Wolfhounds mixed around talking with excited students and were presented with bilums from some of the parents.
Ireland halfback, James Kelly went one step further chewing betelnut.
“We thank you all for your hospitality this morning. Hopefully we put on a good performance this Sunday against the Kumuls,” said Ireland captain, Liam Finn.
Subject Master of Gerehu Primary, Walter Imo said it was an honor to have a team taking part in the World Cup take time out to visit the school.
32 students from Gerehu Primary will run out with Ireland and the PNG LNG Kumuls for kick off this Sunday at the Oil Search National Football Stadium.
