The trial for Malaysian woman, Anita Ting Mee Siong, charged for allegedly having in her possession dangerous drugs and pornography items last December will start at the end of this month.

Siong was listed at Boroko District Court on Wednesday but the trial did not go ahead due to the unavailability of a magistrate.

The Police summary of facts alleges that on December 10, the defendant was in Boroko, NCD.

Police got information that the defendant was in possession of illicit drugs arrested her and further searched a residence at the Ela Vista Apartments at Ela Beach and confiscated an Acer laptop and discovered 44 self-made sex videos in it and 24 nude photos of women.

Upon the findings, police attempted to arrest the defendant when she appeared for mention at the Boroko District Court but didn’t because she failed to turn up for four consecutive mentions.

On February 8, she appeared for her fifth mention at the Boroko District Court and after her case was heard she was taken to Waigani Police Station for questioning in relation to the laptop containing the sex videos.

The defendant was formally charged under section 25A (1) of the Summary Offences Act, for having in her possession sex videos, phonographic movies and nude photos that are grossly offensive and against accepted standard of decency.
