It took a landowner group 25 years to register an association with the Investment Promotion Authority (IPA).

The Nabak-Kawa Landowners Association was officially launched last Wednesday and the landowners received their registration certificate from IPA.

The group was formed by settlers from Nabak, who settled at Tent Siti in Lae.

Nabak-Kawa Landowners Association chairman Sawa Wasop thanked IPA for helping them to register their group, adding that it had taken many years and a lot of money to be officially recognised.

“This is the way forward to help ourselves and Nabak,” Mr Wasop said, adding that grievances must be put aside to move Nabak forward.

IPA administration officer Max Tunaui encouraged the association members to work in unity, adding that the certificate was confirmation and certified them to operate as an association.

“We are happy to present you the certificate which is your legal right,” Mr Tunaui told the members.
