PNG Ports Corporation Limited has donated K20,000 and goods to the Hanuabada fire-affected families.

PNGCPL board chairman Nathaniel Poiya, chief executive officer Stanley Alphonse, and the management, board and staff made the the donation at the PNGCPL office last week.

“Firstly, on behalf of the management and staff of PNG Ports Corporation Ltd (PNGPCL), let me express sadness for the destruction and loss of homes at Hanuabada,” Mr Poiya said.

“PNG Ports values its relationship with all our stakeholders around the Fairfax Harbour and all our ports throughout the country.

“The Hanuabada village is located within PNGPCL’s sphere of operations and the people of Hanuabada are key stakeholders of PNGPCL; therefore, as a sign of good will and as a good corporate citizen, the Board of PNG Ports have without hesitation agreed to provide support to the Hanuabada Village Fire Appeal with a donation of K20, 000.”

“Further to this, our staff have donated clothing as well as other household items towards the relief efforts for those affected by the tragic events of August 19, 2017.

“We sympathise with the families that have lost years of memories through the loss of their homes and we hope our small donation goes a long way in assisting them.”
