The Rotary Club in Port Moresby delivered medical equipments including office supplies to the Gerehu hospital on Monday (Oct 31) as part of their community donation to support the hospitals daily operations.

President of Rotary Club and Head of Credit Finance Corporation Limited Adam Hughes officially handed over the equipments consisting of an Elevated Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC) Machine, Triage Analyser including two computers and a printer that will be used to capture vital stats on patients and training purposes for the staff.

Mr Hughes when handing over equipment’s told the authorities that these machines are only used in major hospitals around the world and Rotary has purchased these machines for the hospital to help save lives.

Hughes said it was for a good course that these equipment’s will help Papua New Guineans seeking medical help at Gerehu clinic at no cost.

“These medical equipment’s will be used to determine potassium levels in very sick children who are often presented at the emergency department” Hughes said.

Gerehu Hospital management and staff were also thankful for having such world class medical equipments at their hospital and acknowledge the clubs support through its community donation.

The Hospital was also challenged to take full responsibility of the equipment’s that will in return help save live of the people.
