Eleven refugees are now back in Manus province after receiving medical treatment in Port Moresby last Friday.
The composite team from PNG Immigration, Police and CS escorted the refugees from Port Moresby to Manus Island after their medical treatment on a chartered Air Nauru flight.
According to reports, there were supposed to be 15 of them, however four of them absconded and remained back in Port Moresby.
Upon their arrival at Momote airport, they were received by PNG Immigration officers and Police and escorted to their new accommodation site at Hill side and West Lorengau in Ward 1.
PPC Manus Chief Inspector David Yapu said the refugees were willingly escorted from Port Moresby to Manus and later transported to their camp site without any use of force.
They have now joined with the other refugees and settled well at their accommodation sites.
Mr Yapu thanked the service providers the Paladin Security and NKW for making available logistics and accommodation for the smooth flow of the refugee with any hiccups.
Meanwhile, due to current unpredictable weather patterns, PPC Yapu warned those people involved in betel nut trade business to Madang, Wewak and Kavieng to take extra necessary precautions before or after going out at sea due to strong wind warning by the National Weather Service.
He said there were also reports of boat capsized at sea but not officially reported to Provincial Disaster office or Police.
Mr Yapu said as the result of the strong winds, two classrooms at Pombrut Primary Schools in the heart of Lorengau town had it’s roofs blown off by strong wind which has affected the children who are attend the school.
He also warned the people in the community to be alerted for any fallen trees and power lines which may endanger their lives.
