The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) held its annual general meeting on Saturday March 19 at the Port Moresby Grammar School Hall.

All the executive members retained their positions with Veronica Marshall re-elected as president. Catherine Doyle continues as vice president as do David Wessels as treasurer and Sheila David as secretary. Ordinary members, Michelle McGeorge, Susan Rackstraw and Jessica Tan are also re-elected for 2018. New ordinary member, Elisa Cragnolini, joins the committee. Trustees are Lindsay Jorgenson, Sinton Spence and Barry Tan, who all accepted to continue in their roles for this year.

In the president’s report, Ms Marshall said in 2018 the RSPCA looks forward to having a new building, bringing in a senior vet and increasing our retail section. She also urged the attendees and the general public to think about how each individual can support the RSPCA of PNG. “You can donate, become a member, volunteer, or simply be kind to an animal you encounter,” she said.

Lindsay Jorgenson and Sean and Beverley Donnelly were invested as life members of the RSPCA of PNG. This is in recognition of their significant recent and past contributions to supporting the work of our charity.
