Body found without limbs: Police

THE body of a man was discovered at the back of the Lae Biscuit factory along Speedway in Lae on Tuesday morning.
Lae Metropolitan Superintendant Anthony Wagambie Jr said the body was found by residents nearby after foul smell was coming from the area where it was found.
“The residents investigated and reported the matter to police and a team was sent there,” Wagambie Jr said.
“The body cannot be identified right now as it was decomposed.
“From observations the limbs were missing as they may have been cut-off or consumed by an animal.”
He said that a post mortem would be conducted later to find out the cause of his death.
Wagambie appealed to the l public to provide any information which might help police in their investigations.
“Anyone in Lae who has a friend or relative missing should consult the Lae CID homicide squad to assist in identifying the body,” he said.
